NWLL Families,

After discussion with our board, we have decided to postpone the start of our spring season activities to later in February. We have been looking forward to getting our spring season underway, so it was difficult to come to this decision. However, we came to this conclusion for two reasons.

First, we need to update our practice and safety guidelines in light of updated guidance from the city and state. Orange County's COVID-19 infection rate and hospitalization rate, although trending downward, continue to be elevated. Our youth are particularly resilient against the coronavirus, but we want to make sure we are doing all that we can to minimize its spread.

Second, we want to have evaluations for our upper divisions safely and thoughtfully, and will need the extra time to devote to their planning. They will likely be in small groups and by assignment only, so that we can limit the number of people on the fields at any one time.

The situation will likely continue to be fluid for some time, so please bear with us as we adjust to the changing conditions.

January 31 will now be the last date to register before evaluations. Evaluations for all players league age 9 and older will be on February 6 and 7. We are hoping teams will be announced by the middle of February, with practices to start as soon as teams are formed.

In addition, we will be significantly reducing our registration fees for every age group to ensure everyone has a chance to participate. We are reducing our expenses, particularly around uniforms, as a result. All previously registered players will receive a partial refund to match the new fee amounts. The adjusted fees should be reflected in our registration system later today.
