Message from the Player Agent

Subject:  Happy Holidays from NWLL – PLEASE READ and Register

We hope everyone enjoys a great Holiday Season as we begin to gear up for a New Year and the 2015 Spring Season.

We wanted to clear up some possible confusion for those not yet registered as well as give some important information and upcoming dates.

Here are some questions we have received:

Will Northwood Little League have All-Stars for 11 year olds?

Yes. Clearing up some misinformation – All players League Age 8 through 14 will have an opportunity to compete for a spot on the same All-Star teams we have had for years, including the 11U Team.

Will Northwood Little League continue the use of the AAA Plus Division again for the 2015 Season?

Yes.  We had great success in player development through this Division as a springboard to the 50-70 Division of Majors Plus last year and look forward to the continued success.

What is the best way to compete in both travel/club baseball and Little League?

For over 10 years advanced players from our League have been able to enjoy games with and against their friends and neighbors during the week at Hicks Canyon Park in their community based games while playing on Sundays with their club teams throughout the area with organizations like CCYB.

Families that have tried entering complete “travel” teams in one of several of the local nearby pony leagues have spent a lot of money to play during the week with unpredictable schedules in games that never matter and player development is sacrificed.  How would you like to scramble to get your son to a field in Lake Forest for a 4:00p game on a Tuesday only to find out it has been canceled because the opposing team can’t make it?  This happened to my son.  Aren’t Friday Nights at Hicks better?

When are Player Evaluations and who has to attend?

All players League Age 8 through 14 must be evaluated by our coaches and staff in order to be drafted onto a team.  Players League Age 8 to 12 will be evaluated at Hicks Canyon Park on either Saturday, January 10th or Saturday, January 17th.

This is the first season that all 8 year olds are required to be evaluated.  We are committed to having balanced teams in A-Ball as well as AA and above.

If anyone has any specific questions about their situation, please feel free to contact me: nwllplayeragent@gmail.com

Peace to All,
Michael Madden

All players who want to be eligible to play must be evaluated.  No exceptions will be made.
